Burlington Trailways Rules and Regulations for Tickets and Baggage

Please note: Children under 15 years of age are required to travel with an older passenger. Children who have not reached his or her second birthday will be carried free when not occupying a seat to the exclusion of another passenger. (Children in the state of Illinois cannot purchase tickets under the age of 17.)

Ticket Restrictions and Limitations

All online ticket purchases are non refundable, non transferable and the origin, destination and routing cannot be changed. You must specify your travel dates on both the one way and round trip portions of your trip.

You must present your Boarding Pass to the driver, along with your state-issued ID, when you board the bus. No passenger will be allowed on the bus without a Boarding Pass.

You must print your Boarding Pass at the time of purchase, NO other documents related to your purchase will be accepted for transportation... ONLY the original boarding Pass. If you are purchasing for ANOTHER person at another location you must purchase a Pre-paid Ticket Order — P.T.O.

Burlington Trailways is not responsible for delays due to breakdowns, road conditions, weather or other conditions beyond the carrier's control.

All boarding passes are non transferable. If a boarding pass is presented by any person other than the one for whom it was purchased it will be void and subject to confiscation by any employee or any authorized employee of another carrier over which the ticket is issued.

General Information

Issuing carrier will be responsible only for transportation on its own lines, in accordance with tariff regulations and limitations and assumes no responsibility for acts or omissions of other carriers, within or outside the United States, except as imposed by law with respect to checked baggage.

Seating aboard Burlington Trailways is without regard to race, color, sex, or national origin.

Baggage Regulations and Limitations

Government regulations and carrier's tariffs require that all baggage must have proper identification that clearly shows the passengers name', and home address to which it can be forwarded to in the event of loss or delay. Free identification tags are available at all ticket counters. Place completed ID tags on the outside and inside of all checked and carry on luggage.

Passengers holding adult fare tickets are allowed 1 piece of baggage checked under the bus for no additional charge. Passengers with child fare tickets are allowed to check 1 piece of luggage under the bus. All passengers are allowed to check additional luggage under the bus, not to exceed a total of 5 per passenger, for an additional fee above the free allowance.

Interstate Baggage Liability

Liability for loss or damage to checked baggage is limited to actual value not to exceed $250 for all baggage checked with adult tickets. The limit for baggage checked on a child fare ticket is $125. All passengers are allowed to purchase additional insurance for checked baggage at any ticket counter. Declared value cannot exceed $1000 for an adult ticket and $500 for a child fare ticket. Only clothing and toiletries are to be among the items in your checked luggage. Items of value and cash will not be insured for any amount. All baggage is subject to inspection and anything with additional insurance purchased will be inspected for contents.
